My Story
I have always been an instructor with a desire and flare for technology. Intrigued by how people learned I studied Psychology as an undergraduate, earning a Bachelor's of Science with a teaching certification. I loved working with children, but often found myself teaching other adults the skills I had taught myself. Earning a Masters in Teaching, I was offered a fellowship to work with the collegiate teaching team to teach emerging technology to educators. Fast forward through my 20+ years as an educator, administrator, and Certified Educational Technology Leader, I use my talents to help organizations develop engaging synchronous and asynchronous activities to meet the needs of their professionals and mission.
Learning Theories

Knowing your audience is fundamental part of the instructional design process. The type of learner, their learning styles, abilities, are all considered when designing the learning experience. In my tenure I have studied and applied these theories to my instructional design.

Data Privacy

Data Privacy is one of the most important factors when working with a a large population of learners. As a supervisor of a K-12 school system, keeping young learners data safe was a top priority. I have been trained in the privacy laws for K-12 through adult learners.
Managing a Website for a school district comes with accessibility responsibilities and concerns. I was able to use my training in the system to ensure that my work meets established standards for all learners. This includes, but is not limited to, alt text and tags, readable content, and customizable themes and scripts.

Professional Presentations

Along with designing instruction, I have facilitated and trained professionals for more than 20 years. Presenting virtually and in-person I have shared skills and experiences from my practices and research. I enjoy helping others, however when working collaboratively or supporting a colleague presenting, I look for opportunities to continually expand my own learning, knowledge, skills, and abilities
Recent global events have not only enhanced video conferencing and presentation skills, but they propelled them to new heights. Through these past years I have supported Instructor-Led Trainings and Virtual Instructor-Led Trainings via such applications as Zoom, Teams, Collaborate, and Google. I have participated in meetings via WebEx, GoTo Meeting, and Big Blue Button.
